Introduction:

Learn the essential skills to use the spreadsheet for home and office applications. From the basics, including layout, formatting and printing, through to the manipulation of text and numbers, participants will get a thorough grounding in applying this powerful tool to solve a myriad of problems. A working knowledge of the Windows environment is needed.

What to bring

  • Pen and paper
  • Students need to use the College provided Windows laptops to access the course training resources

Tutor Profile:

Mark Baumert

Mark has worked as a computer trainer specialising in the Microsoft Suite of applications for 25 years, training for the Byron College since 2000.
 
Qualifying in engineering during the 1970s, and working on the design and construction of major infrastructure projects, Mark became closely involved in the rollout and utilization of business computerisation in the second half of the 80s.
 
Of particular interest to Mark, has been the complex manipulation of data and modelling made possible using typical spreadsheet applications for both business and personal use. He particularly enjoys demonstrating and explaining how the features of the spreadsheet can assist students in their everyday lives and experiences.
