Introduction:
This course provides an introduction to printmaking with a focus on two popular techniques: monoprint and linocut. Students will explore the basic principles‚ tools, materials, and methods of these printmaking processes, developing their skills through hands-on practice and creative experimentation.
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist looking to expand your skills, this course offers a hands-on, immersive experience that will ignite your artistic passion.
Day One we will be exploring monoprint. This technique allows for limitless creativity and spontaneous expression, every monoprint is unique, offering endless possibilities for experimentation and creativity.
Day Two Rachel will guide you through the essentials of linocut, helping you create stunning prints that showcase your unique artistic vision. Learn to carve, ink, and print your own designs, and create bold, graphic artworks that stand out.
You will walk away with a small edition of your designs.

Tutor Profile:
Rachel Dun
Rachel has been printmaking for the past 8 years‚ exploring the differing techniques print has to offer. She has been a resident of Byron Shire for 25 years, firstly Huonbrook now Brunswick Heads her art practice strongly reflects place in the landscape. She has a Degree in Visual Arts specialising in printmaking and is passionate to share her extensive knowledge of the processes of etching and printmaking. Rachel regularly teaches printmaking to High school students, in the fully equipped studio where the possibilities of creating prints is limitless.
