Introduction:

Accidental Counsellor equips participants with practical, skills-based strategies to support someone in the moment of distress. It teaches participants how to:

· Listen effectively and respond calmly

· De-escalate heightened emotions

· Help someone identify their strengths and next steps

It’s particularly suited to those in everyday roles—educators, community workers, aged care workers, frontline staff, volunteers, and parents—who often find themselves supporting others unexpectedly. Being face-to-face and highly interactive, it gives participants the chance to practise these skills in realistic scenarios and build real confidence. Accidental Counsellor is a communication-focused course that fills the gap between awareness and referral, appealing to a broader audience seeking practical tools for real-life situations.
