Introduction:

This is a 6 week Men's Parenting Support Group, consisting of weekly topics for discussion, including handouts.

The aim is to provide men with an opportunity to bring their own lived experience as fathers, including their wisdom, challenges and curiosity and participate in a supportive discussion group environment.

The format will include a check in, an introduction to the weekly topic, a group and paired discussion/sharing and a check out.

Weekly course topics:

  • Defining fatherhood
  • Managing stress, anger and expectations
  • Communication & connection with kids
  • Discipline and boundaries
  • Partnering in parenting (or going it alone)
  • Legacy, reflection & next steps

What to Bring

  • Own refreshments
  • Pen and paper, if you wish to take notes

Important information

Once your enrolment is completed you will receive a confirmation email. This email will include your receipt and inform you of the dates, times and venue for your course. It will also let you know of anything you need to take to class with you.

Please make sure that you give us a valid email address and mobile number as any course changes will be communicated via sms or email.

Students are required to be 15 years old and above at the time of enrolment.

With small class sizes for a better learning experience, our courses can fill up fast, but they also need a minimum number of enrolments to run, so avoid disappointment and enrol early!

Tutor Profile:

Geoff Haycraft

Geoff is 74 years old and has two adult sons and three grand-daughters.
 
He holds an Associate Diploma in Community Welfare and has worked in fields including mental health and juvenile justice, as well as having run several businesses.
 
He is a long term member of a weekly men’s support group and has studied and explored many fields of personal growth and learning over 40 years.
 
Geoff recognises a significant unmet meed for the men of our community to have access to adequate support in their roles as fathers and co-parents and is passionate about taking steps to address this.
