Introduction:

Tai Ji is a highly revitalising practice that has evolved over centuries to embody the principles of the Tao - The Way of Harmony.

It begins with a series of standing exercises, slow flowing movements, simple partner patterns and sitting meditations.

In an age when our attention is being continually hijacked, Tai Ji offers a way to move from the superficial and compelling to the deeper, richer and more relational realms of engagement with life.

The first change is to move concentration from the visual and auditory to the internal kinaesthetic senses, like pressure and muscle states. Deepening presence into the physical body’s intelligence, the energetic flows and the deep emotional patterns allows the normally unconscious motivations to be worked with. This leads to an expanded understanding of what life is, allowing pressure to be used to train inner development.
