Introduction:
In this course you'll dive into the foundational techniques of lino and etching, learning what makes these two printmaking methods so captivating. The linocut process of revealing an image as you carve deeper into the material, teaches you the beauty of simplicity and the power of negative space.
Meanwhile, etching, with its intricate process of marking a metal plate, introduces you to the delicate balance between control and surprise.
Whether you're just starting out or have already dabbled in printmaking, this course offers an immersive experience. Each session allows you to get your hands dirty, literally, in the Laneway studio which now has two printing presses. You’ll experiment, problem-solve, and refine your techniques with every print.
By the end of the course, your confidence with these processes will grow, and you'll leave with not only two editions of prints but also a deeper connection to printmaking. It’s a chance to reignite your artistic passion, whether you're a beginner excited to learn something new or an experienced artist expanding your toolkit.
Rachel Dun’s supportive teaching will inspire you to push your boundaries and unlock new dimensions in your artistic practice.
Please make sure that you give us a valid email address and mobile number as any course changes will be communicated via sms or email.
