Mental Health First Aid (Standard) with Andy Kelly

Introduction:

In this internationally recognised training you will learn how to assist an adult who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves‚ using a practical, evidence-based action plan.

This is a 2-day (14 hour) course and will include a copy of the MHFA manual. Within a week of finishing, each participant is emailed a link inviting them to download and print off their certificate and to provide feedback on the course and the course presenter. Also, without further cost, each participant may choose to complete a brief 20 question assessment in order to achieve Mental Health First Aider Accreditation.

Important information

Once your enrolment is completed you will receive a confirmation email. This email will include your receipt and inform you of the dates, times and venue for your course. It will also let you know of anything you need to take to class with you.

Andy Kelly is widely recognised as having expertise in client-related behaviour management in the health, mental health, disability and aged sector. He maintains a strong personal and professional interest in mental health, dementia, human relationships and behaviour.

Andy is engaged by organisations and professionals seeking guidance around client-related behaviour issues in the health, community services, disability, aged care and tertiary education settings. He has been a Registered Nurse, Mental Health Nurse and Health Counsellor as well as a skilled, experienced educator and trainer for more than 40 years..

Andy is also an accredited Principal Master level Mental Health First Aid trainer who brings a relaxed but engaging and passionate approach to training.  His extensive clinical experience provides him with the stories that provide richness and relevance to the learning experience of workshop participants.
