Do you love words? I do! Writing is many things for me. A collection of letters, arranged into sequences & patterns, & there’s meaning of sorts. But what power that meaning can wield! It can soothe, inflame, love, intrigue, tickle your curiosity…
I’ve been writing since my teens. The craft was lovingly honed through a creative writing degree at Southern Cross Uni, but was seeded through much personal journaling, short story & memoir writing, articles for special interest mags & small papers.
There’s also the spiritual aspect. Writing can be a merging with the Self that involves trust you’ll find those words, surrender to a deeply imaginative part of the self, curiosity to see what will come next, mindfulness as you put that caustic inner critic to one side…
In my work as a teacher & psychotherapist, words, & the silences in between, are pearls beyond price.
