Tutor Profile:
Ree Hegh
Growing up in the Byron Shire, Ree discovered her love of the creative process during her senior years at Mullumbimby High School. However, it wasn't until she returned to the area many years later, with her young family, that she pursued an education in visual arts.
She began her studies at Byron Community College, completing a Certificate lll in Visual Arts. Inspired by her teacher, Virginia Reid, she continued to a Certificate lV in Visual Arts at Murwillumbah TAFE.
From there, she went on to study a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) at the Queensland College of Art (QCE) in Brisbane and, in 2025, was awarded a Doctor of Visual Arts. Her research explored the role of everyday objects in contemporary sculpture, focusing on their materiality and transformative potential.
Throughout her studies, Ree has exhibited across Australia, participated in artist residencies, and enjoys teaching within the region's thriving art education community.
