Tutor Profile:

Virginia Reid

Virginia was fortunate to have a couple of wonderful teachers during her high school years, whose expertise in art history opened up the cultures of the world to her. Those teachers' influences had an impact on the direction of Virginia’s life, encouraging her toward art school in Sydney, then a post-graduate in Canberra; and later a Master's degree in Melbourne.

Over the years Virginia has worked and studied in aboriginal communities in the NT and WA, and has lived and exhibited in LA and NYC.

Virginia has also taught art in various settings ranging from the children’s education programs with Queensland Art Gallery (QAG) to maximum security mens’ prisons.

Virginia’s own practice is multi-disciplinary and focusses on exploring embodied experience and interconnectedness.
