Introduction:

This intermediate-level printmaking course invites students to deepen their understanding of printmaking techniques, focusing on exploring various mark-making methods to create dynamic and expressive works. You will refine your skills, building on your prior printmaking experience, and will have the opportunity to experiment with different materials, tools, techniques, and approaches to generate unique and editions of prints.
You will explore both traditional and innovative printmaking techniques, such as using different inking methods, stencils, and textures to create spontaneous, layered effects. Emphasis will be placed on mark-making as a key component in creating depth and texture.

You will expand on your fundamentals of etching, focusing on how marks are created and manipulated on the plate to achieve various tonal effects and textures.

Throughout the course, we will explore a wide range of mark-making methods, including gestural, linear, and experimental techniques, to develop individual creative styles.
