There are currently no openings available for this course.

Introduction:

Discover how to turn plants, local weeds and natural materials into beautiful handmade paints and inks in this immersive one-day workshop. You’ll learn practical techniques for extracting colour from nature, including lake pigment making for tempera, oil and watercolour paints, as well as natural drawing inks using ingredients such as gum, honey and egg.

Through demonstrations and hands-on making, you’ll create your own sustainable art materials and take home recipes, samples and comprehensive notes to continue experimenting beyond the class. Compatible with “Wild Colour-Making from Nature I”, this workshop can be taken on its own or combined for two inspiring days of creative study.
