Printastic — Screen Printing Taster

Get hands-on and discover the creative possibilities of screen printing.

Dive into a fun, practical introduction to screen printing and explore how this versatile technique can transform a wide range of materials. In this engaging taster session, you’ll experiment with a pre-exposed screen, learn how to create your own hand-cut stencil, and pick up helpful tips and tricks along the way.

Perfect for beginners or anyone curious to try something new, this workshop offers a relaxed, creative space to play with colour, texture and design while building confidence with the process.

 

 

Tutor Profile:

Jude White:

With over 35 years experience, Jude White is a vibrant artist, textile designer and teacher. Jude professionally trained as a screen printer and textile artist at Melbourne University in the 80's. Since then she has continued her Arts practice and exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions as well as facilitating screen printing workshops all over Australia.  Jude is passionate about supporting first nations artists' to translate their artworks into repeat printable textile designs and has worked with many Indigenous art centres, in particular: Injalak Arts & Crafts,  Ikuntji Artists', and Waralungku Arts. 
 
Currently living, mothering and practicing in Northern NSW, on Bundjalung country, Jude’s current work reflects the colours, shapes and textures of the Australian landscape through painting, botanical dyeing, printmaking, collage and cloth.  In her work she aims to invoke a deep devotion of this sacred land and inspire others to appreciate and care for it.
