Introduction:

Have you ever wanted to head outdoors to paint and felt too intimidated to even try? Not sure what to pack or even what to paint when you get there? This course is for you.
In this taster course Kym will walk you through the materials she packs, what to look for in a location, and how to quickly simplify the landscape, tackling tone, colour choices and what to leave in or out to capture the atmosphere of the location.
This class will mix a demonstration by Kym and theory… to better understand the challenges and triumphs of painting in the great outdoors.

What to bring:
Notepad pen for notetaking and a sense of adventure.

Important information

Once your enrolment is completed you will receive a confirmation email. This email will include your receipt and inform you of the dates, times and venue for your course. It will also let you know of anything you need to take to class with you.

Tutor Profile:

Kym Beaton
Kym is a landscape and life painter whose work captures the energy and spontaneity of painting from life. Formally trained in graphic design, she has received awards including the APANZ Artist Member Honour in New Zealand’s pastel community and has featured on Colour In Your Life. Passionate about sharing her skills, Kym leads workshops, plein air sessions, and life-drawing classes to inspire and mentor other artists.
