Tutor Profile:

Sally Green

Sally is a lifelong artist based in Australia, channels the vibrant landscapes of her surroundings into emotionally expressive abstract paintings. With a diverse career spanning airbrush artistry and two decades as a glassblower, Sally now dedicates herself to creating works that capture the essence of Australia natural beauty, from the greens and browns of the Northern Rivers to the blues and ochres of Byron Bay coastline.

What you see in her artworks is very much in the eye of the beholder. What do you see or feel? This is very personal as each person will see different things and sometimes it can make you have different feelings, this for her, is what art is about, speaking to your subconscious and making your limbic brain make connections from the abstract forms. Sally creates for herself but also for you the viewer to evoke emotions and a sense of wonder.

Her techniques, honed over years, include fluid art, airbrushing, and traditional brushwork, allowing her to create flowing, organic and textural compositions.

For Sally art is cathartic. a form of transmutation of emotions into form. Time is completely lost as she enters a kind of meditative state whilst creating her organic abstract art.

It's about letting go and the play of colours blending together, as she releases parts of her psyche in this alchemical process.

For her creating art is a process of inner transformation, and somehow she emerges from painting into a higher state of being. So her art is very personal and it has been necessary for her to create since she was able to hold a paintbrush.

Her pieces evolve naturally straight from source with minimal planning, just going with the flow of the colours and what she feels in her heart.

Sally's art invites viewers to connect with nature beauty, and ignite your imagination.
