Introduction:
Have you ever wanted to experience the joy of art-making in a supportive group setting? Are you curious about exploring your inner and outer world through creative, expressive processes?
In this course, you’ll engage in a variety of art-based activities designed to foster insight, awareness, and meaningful expression. Working alongside others, you’ll have the opportunity to share your experiences if you choose, or listen to others, in a respectful and nurturing environment which creates a safe space for connection and mutual learning.
The joy of play and creative expression comes naturally as children, but life’s demands often mean these joys are forgotten. Over 8 weeks, you’ll rediscover the power of art-making as a tool for reflection, communication, and connection. No artistic skills or experience are required — this course is about the process, not the end result.
Guided by an experienced and professionally trained Art Psychotherapist, you’ll be supported in exploring creative processes that hold personal meaning for you through a range of activities; art making, art journalling , group sharing (only if you choose) and respectful listening.
This course is not training to become an Art therapist as that requires a Masters level course. Instead , this class offers the experience of an art therapy group /class adapted to a learning environment .
On completion, students will take away a range of art therapy ideas that they can use as tools for every day living, personal growth and to foster their own sense of well being.
