Tutor Profile:
Nyree Smith
Smithing and metalwork have been my career and passion for 30 years, 22 of them with my own business. I apply an artisan philosophy and application to my work, and have won awards from the Australia Council for the Arts, George Alexander Foundation and the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust. These have enabled me to gain further specialised training in contemporary and ancient metalworking techniques. It is a dream of mine to make the world of metalwork more accessible and interesting to others, so they too can discover what it's like to construct and create with this infinitely malleable material, the possibilities are endless and the feeling is empowering and inspiring.
