In this introduction to portrait painting, we will focus on improving your realism, honing ‘likeness’ and taking a down to earth approach to painting the face.

There is nothing more powerful, more compelling, than the human face. It is the first thing we attune to when we come into this world.

This course is for beginners who are past the basics, up to intermediates

What to bring

• A pen & paper
• Refreshments
• Paint brushes if you have them
• Tutor will provide materials
• Reference will be provided for you, but if you’d like to use your own image please bring an A4 printout of a high resolution photo, shoulders up, with good lighting in greyscale. And bring a digital version on your phone for backup.

Important information

Once your enrolment is completed you will receive a confirmation email. This email will include your receipt and inform you of the dates, times and venue for your course. It will also let you know of anything you need to take to class with you.
