Learn various Shibori methods, including stitching, clamping, folding, twisting, and compressing, to create mesmerizing patterns on fabric. Tutor Profile:
Anne Leon
Born in South Africa, Anne immigrated to Australia 40 years ago, after completing her first year at the University of Natal.
Settling in Brisbane, she continued studying art at the Seven Hills College of Art, and graduated two years later with a Diploma in Fine Art, majoring in ceramics.
Anne has been evolving her design and art practice ever since, and currently works primarily in textiles.
The versatility of Anne’s work, reflect a rich artistic career, and include screen-and block-printing, painting and dyeing, on textiles and paper.
This quality has earned her numerous large commissions, from Interior designers, architects & Couturiers, domestic and international.
Anne has a studio in Mullumbimby, Northern NSW Australia, where she creates custom hand-printed and naturally dyed textiles, maintains her Fine Art practice, and conducts workshops throughout Australia.
