Trainer Profile
Ree Hegh
Growing up in the Byron Shire, Ree discovered her love of the creative process during her senior years at Mullumbimby High School. It wasn’t until she returned to the area many years later, with her young family, that she pursued formal education in visual arts.
Ree began her studies at Byron Community College, completing a Certificate III in Visual Arts. Inspired by her teacher, Virginia Reid, she went on to complete a Certificate IV in Visual Arts at Murwillumbah TAFE.
She then studied a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) at the Queensland College of Art (QCA) in Brisbane and, in 2025, was awarded a Doctor of Visual Arts. Her doctoral research explored the role of everyday objects in contemporary sculpture, with a particular focus on their materiality and transformative potential.
Throughout her studies, Ree has exhibited her work across Australia and participated in artist residencies. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience and enjoys teaching within the region’s thriving visual arts community.
