Introduction:
This workshop is designed to provide an introduction to financial literacy for anyone starting their own business. You will leave with some practical skills and knowledge to help manage your finances. We will be using Microsoft Excel (or pages for Apple Mac users) to create some templates (budget, cash flow, profit and loss and pricing calculator).

USI
From the 1st January 2015, any student enrolling in an Accredited Training course will be required to obtain a USI. The USI helps to keep your training records and results together in an online accunt which is controlled by you. You can log on to the USI website at http://usi.gov.au/Pages/default.aspx and follow the simple instructions onine to create your USI. This then needs to be provided to the College at the time of enrolment.

- Understand the basics of finance for small business
- Learn how to create and manage budgets
- Gain skills in interpreting financial statements
- Understand cash flow management
- Pricing and creating and using a pricing template
- Class is delivered face-to-face
- 1 day of onsite classroom learning, 9.00am - 3.00pm

- Be an Aystralian citizen, permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder, or a New Zealand citizen; and
- Live or work in New South Wales; and
- Be aged 15 years or older; and
- No longer be at school or equivalent; and
- Provide the College with your USI at the time of enrolment (admin staff can assist you in obtaining a USI).
What to bring:
- Laptop
- Google Account access (if you don't have Microsoft Excel)
- Microsoft Excel access
- Information about your industry (e.g. pricing) that can be used in some of the practical activities
- Notebook and pen
