Community, Connection & What’s Happening at Byron Community College
It’s been a full and energising start to the term, with students returning to campus and the College continuing to play an active role in the local community.
Open Day at the College
The College recently welcomed the public for and Open Day, inviting locals to explore the campus, meet the team, and experience the environment firsthand.
Visitors were invited to wander through the grounds, taking in the relaxed communal courtyard, the permaculture gardens, enjoy a free morning tea.
Term 2 is underway
Term 2 has officially begun, and it’s great to see students back on campus, bringing a renewed energy to the space. Alongside current classes, new courses are starting soon, offering more opportunities to learn, build skills, and connect.

Byron Community College is also now featured on ClassBento, making it easier to discover and book creative, hands-on experiences, great for those visiting the area who may not be aware of the college and looking for a weekend course to join.
Community in action
Byron Community College recently hosted a Community Services Provider Morning Tea, held at the Mullumbimby District Neighbourhood Centre Community Pantry. The gathering brought together a wide range of local organisations to connect, share updates, and discuss the current landscape of community support across the region.

The meeting highlighted a growing crisis across Mullumbimby and the surrounding shire, with organisations raising urgent concerns about increasing demand, reduced capacity, and the risk of service closures. These conversations are an important step in strengthening collaboration and ensuring the community remains supported during a challenging time.
With students back on campus, new courses launching soon, and ongoing collaboration across the region, Byron Community College continues to be a hub for learning and community.
