This unit satisfies training requirements across a range of community and workplace settings and can be of benefit to anyone in the workplace, home or various other situations. Refresher courses (which are recommended to be renewed every 3 years) are also conducted within the one-day format.

Introduction:

This First Aid course will provide you with an excellent introduction to first aid and enable you to perform appropriate first aid procedures and basic life support until qualified emergency help arrives. This unit satisfies training requirements across a range of community and workplace settings and can be of benefit to anyone in the workplace, home or various other situations. Refresher courses (which are recommended to be renewed every 3 years) are also conducted within the one-day format.
 

Assessment Requirements:

This course includes a required pre-study online component, followed by a practical course session of 6 hours at the time you have booked. Pre-study consists of reading learning materials online and answering some short answer questions and some learning activities, for first aid  you should allow approximately 4 to 6 hours to complete the pre course learning  depending on your previous experience. Students will have 4 weeks post practical to complete online assessments. Thereafter your enrolment will be cancelled and a certificate will not be issued.
 

Award issued: 

Successful participants will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for:
  1. HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation 
  2. HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid

USI

From the 1st of January 2015, any student enrolling in an Accredited Training course will be required to obtain a USI. The USI helps to keep your training records and results together in an online account which is controlled by you. You can logon to the USI website and follow the simple instructions online to create your USI. This then needs to be provided to the College at the time of enrolment.

Once your enrolment is completed you will receive a confirmation email. This email will include your receipt and inform you of the dates, times and venue for your course. It will also let you know of anything you need to take to class with you.

Students are required to be 15 years old and above at the time of enrolment.
